Top 5 Group Fitness Classes in Cincinnati

I am a lover of group fitness. They are most definitely my jam. These classes really combine fitness and fun into one… not to mention, I am definitely more likely to get my ass up for a group fitness class rather than to go to the gym by myself… but hey, that’s just me.

Here are my top 5 group fitness classes in Cincinnati:

The Barre Code:

Do you remember when Shelbie and I did 30 classes of barre in 30 days? You can read about my experience here and Shelbie’s experience here. It really was a kickstart to my fitness journey!

The Barre Code offers a new way to move. It is a lot of small movements that really tire out your muscles. Not to mention, I always love the positive feeling I have during and after class.

I kick off my week with Barre every Monday morning! If you’d ever like to join me, you can sign up here! It is located in downtown Cincinnati, right on Main, perfect for those of you who work downtown!

Nicole Leisen Personal Training & Fitness: TRX Classes

I found Nicole’s classes through the Cincy State of Being Insider Program (click here to read more about the deals on fitness/health/welness you can get by being an Insider) and immediately fell in love!

Nicole’s TRX class is a great example of why I love group fitness – you get a chance to try something new! I have never in my life used a TRX before… and you can really tell when I am trying to do those inversions, but being four weeks into her classes, I can tell a real difference in my strength.

Meaning yes, I can plank while on a TRX now. 😉 I’ll insert a picture of that here tomorrow… stay tuned! I see Nicole twice a week right now, but am adding a third class to my calendar when I can. I love her positive attitude and support during classes.

You can catch me at Nicole’s TRX group class in Covington on Tuesdays & Thursday’s – click here to sign up!

Inner Fire Fitness

Inner Fire offers a wide variety of classes, but I have only taken one… Flot (aka aerial yoga). Oh yeah, you read that right, I have been suspended in the air using only my strength to keep me up.

Just kidding, you really position your body in a way that you won’t fall, but I will say it is serious business trying to pull yourself up into the splits. I do it just about once every class… it’s not pretty, but it’s a lot of fun.

I really love how different aerial yoga is. It might seem intimidating, but Molly, the instructor, is really helpful and patient when it comes to getting into different positions. I highly recommend getting with your girls and trying Flot out! You will have a great time!

You can sign up for not only Flot, but Bootcamp & Booty Building here.

The Body Shop Fitness & Training

I went to an I’m with Kelly InTENsity class and SURVIVED!! Y’all cardio is not my thing, but Kelly damn sure will make you think it is! This girl is all pep and support. Even as I was sweating, breathing heavily and muscles just near giving out – Kelly reminded me that I could keep going… & that right there is PRICELESS in group fitness.

The Body Shop has so many different things to offer. I have so far only been to two classes, but I cannot wait to go back! I need more hours in the day to work on my fitness. 😉

If you are looking for an intense workout that will leave you feeling like superwoman the next day, you can sign up for a class at The Body Shop Fitness & Training here.

St. Bernard Dance & Fitness Studio: Zumba & PIYO with Kate

Don’t think for a second that I can dance… like I said earlier, cardio isn’t my thing, but Zumba gives me a chance to get it done in a really fun way.

Kate has great energy and always leads class in a fun manner. I normally dance on in the back (really no one wants to see that) but I feel like Kate does such a great job that even I can follow along.

She also teaches a PIYO class that incorporates a bit of everything from cardio, strength, yoga and pilates. It is upbeat and will really set the tone for your day. I always come out feeling incredibly strong.

If you are looking for ways to get cardio into your fitness routine, I highly recommend checking out a class.

You can find the studio’s fitness schedule by visiting there Facebook page here.
