Alexander’s Market & Deli: A Good Sammie in Hammie

Be on the lookout for Alexander’s Market & Deli opening up on May 1st.

I had the opportunity to check out a sneak peek of Alexander’s Market and Deli up in Hamilton, Ohio. Just about 30 minutes outside of the city, Hamilton had a cute downtown feel, and Alexander’s had the perfect location to stop in and grab a sandwich.

Corey and I had never really been in downtown Hamilton, so we decided to check out a few spots near Alexander’s and figure out exactly what we will do next time we are in the neighborhood.

We decided we would come up in the afternoon and stop at Alexander’s for lunch. There will be a full service deli with soups, salads, and sandwiches, so if friends come along there is something for everyone. We would also check out to the market portion of the deli and grab some snacks and drinks for…

The drive in movie theatre. Whoa, throwback. A drive in movie is a summer staple for Corey and I and Holiday Auto is only about 15 minutes away from Alexander’s.

However, we can’t be in a new part of town without checking out the brew. So before we go to the drive in, we would definitely have to check out Municipal Brew Works for some delicious beer and a nice view.

Have you been to Hamilton? What are you favorite things about the community?

Now that I have you planning out a full day in Hamilton, OH, let me tell you why Alexander’s Market and Deli is worth the trip up there all by itself.

The Italian (left): Served on Sixteen Bricks ciabatta rolls, ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, pickled red onions, lettuce, tomato, and topped with spicy garlic dressing. This sandwich is a beautiful spin on a classic. Chef Rachel has over 15 years of culinary experience, so it’s no wonder she was able to make this sandwich her own.

The Plucked & Pickled (right): Served on Sixteen Bricks sourdough bread, roasted turkey, bacon, pickled red onions, and creamy spinach and artichoke spread. I tried this sandwich hot, but you do have the option of getting it cold as well. I loved the savory flavor of the bacon mixed with the sweet tang from the pickled red onions. This sammie was a show stopper. [This one was Corey’s absolute favorite… I think he could have eaten two! ;)]

The Hamiltonian (left):
Served on Sixteen Bricks pretzel bread, roast beef, cheddar cheese, creamy coleslaw, and onion marmalade. Let me tell you, I was sold when they said pretzel bread. But Rachel takes a roast beef sandwich to the next level. Who knew roast beef and coleslaw went so well together?!
