Healthy Kibble Add-ins for Dogs

Dog Kibble Add-ins

If you don’t know, we lost our 14 year old pup Auggi earlier this year. My husband would consider this PTSD, but ever since I have definitely been obsessed with looking up healthy kibble add-ins for dogs.

Auggi passed after the stress of having 30+ teeth pulled caused his gallbladder to rupture. He had a rough 2020, but we definitely did not expect him to go out like that. So now, yes, I am obsessed with making sure my pups Aldo and Mira can be as healthy as possible and avoid any health problems in the future.

This health journey begins with their food! We already feed them healthy natural kibble twice a day, and now we have begun adding in healthy bits for added benefits!

Below are the healthy kibble add-ins we include in our dogs meals.

But first, here is the kibble we feed them.

Now for the lovely healthy kibble add-ins.

1. Allergy Immune Supplement

Filled with Omega-3 fatty acids that are great for immune system, digestion, skin, and coat.

2. Joint Support Supplement

Great for small dogs who have joint issues. Our yorkie poo is a bit hard on her knees – this helps with recovery!

3. Wet Food or Water

We use the Kirkland brand wet food and add a good scoop into the kibble for moisture. If we don’t happen to have wet food, we soak their kibble in a little bit of water for 5 minutes before feeding. This is great for added hydration and digestion. If you don’t add kibble or wet food to your dogs kibble now, I highly recommend!

4. Berry and Coconut Oil Freeze

These are the molds we use! Perfect for small dogs, or big dog treats!

These bad boys I make at home! I simply blend up blueberries, add them to the bottom of this mold, and then melt coconut oil and add on top. I throw it in the freezer and give them one a day. Berries are filled with antioxidants and coconut oil is great for skin, coat, nails and for deterring parasites and worms.

5. Other easy healthy kibble add-ins

  • Pumpkin
  • Goat Milk
  • Ground Flax
  • Sardines
  • Carrots
  • Eggs

Please always consult with your vet before adding anything new into your dogs diet!
