Date Night: The Melting Pot

Corey surprised me with a special date night this Wednesday. He made reservations to the local Melting Pot on Montgomery Road. He picked the perfect place, dim lighting and all I seemed to smell was cheese… he clearly knows the way to my heart.

A Drink

Corey decided he was interested in only water, but since we were on a fancy date, I decided to get a fancy drink. I went with the Authentic Mai Tai. It contains Jamaican Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Cointreau Orange Liqueur and Liber & Co. Orgeat shaken with ice and topped with lime juice. I have to admit, it was quite strong, but delicious. I loved that they put a cinnamon stick as a garnish. Every time I took a sip I got a great wiff of cinnamon, YUM!

Cheese

You don’t go to a fondue place without getting cheese fondue. There were loads of options to pick from but we went with a more queso like choice. It’s called Fiesta and it contains: Aged cheddar | Emmenthaler | Lager Beer | House-Made Salsa | Jalapeño. We asked for it as spicy as possible, meaning our waitress dumped four spoonfuls of freshly chopped jalapeño. It was delicious. It came with apples, bread, celery, tortilla chips and so much more. Oddly enough, dipping the apples in cheese was my favorite! Don’t knock it til’ you try it.

Chocolate

& for the big finale… dessert! Cookies ‘N Cream Marshmallow Dream was our choice. It includes dark chocolate, marshmallow creme and cookie ‘n cream crumbles… not to mention she flambé ‘d the marshmallow cream, so cool and so delicious. They brought us strawberries, bananas, blondies, brownies and so much more to dip in the wonderful chocolatey goodness.

It was the most wonderful night. I recommend this to anyone! We didn’t do the full course meal, but the cheese and chocolate alone was enough to fill us up.
