NEW SERIES: LAYLA FINDS OTHER BLOGGERS IN CINCINNATI

Sometimes it’s nice to get a view of Cincinnati from someone else’s eyes. Meet Nick Siegel, I will give him the chance to introduce himself in our mini interview below. 🙂

COULD YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN A SENTENCE – OR TWO ;)?

Hi, I’m Nick. I’m an lgbtq+ lifestyle blogger and photographer. I’m just living life and sharing my experiences as I go!

WHAT MADE YOU START YOUR BLOG?

I started blogging to share my experiences in the hopes it would help a person who was also struggling with their identity and to also give me a creative outlet in a time in my life where I felt like I really didn’t know what I was doing with it. To also give me something to build up and I haven’t been the best blogger life throws stuff at you sometimes and you have to deal with those things in order to get back into it and that’s why my blog has been neglected as of recently.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT CINCINNATI?

What do I like best about Cincinnati!? That’s a tough one, but I’d have to say there is always something going on and the city is on a come up, so I’m sure the activities will continue to grow!

WHAT ARE YOUR 3 FAVORITE LGBTQ+ SPOTS IN CINCI?

My fave spots in town are probably Below zero, the Cabaret and the dock (when it was still open)! I wish we had more spots other than bars and I’m sure we do, I just haven’t discovered them yet!

PART OF YOUR BLOG FOCUSES ON FOOD – WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN CINCINNATI?

Omg I love food! I went to culinary school for two years before I dropped out cause I was midcrisis, I need to blog or maybe film that and tell y’all about it, but I’d have to say my favorite restaurant would have to be Palomino’s they have a killer happy hour the my friend Lauren took me to and they have this garlic bread that has pesto on it and I’m a sucker for anything that incorporates pesto! I’ve never written about it cause I never wanted to let everyone know about them!

YOU ALSO TALK A LOT ABOUT TRAVEL – HOW DO YOU FIND THE PLACES YOU DECIDE TO EXPLORE?

Honestly Pinterest! I’m currently writing this as I’m writing that post, hopefully it’ll be up Thursday or Friday!

WHAT WAS THE MOST OUTSTANDING TRAVEL EXPERIENCE YOU CAN REMEMBER?

That would have to be in Thailand! I’ve never been able to bring myself to blog about it because it was such a wonderful experience that I’m still not ready to share! It’s honestly been a life changing experience that I wish I could experience more!

ANY TRAVEL ESSENTIALS YOU CAN NEVER GO WITHOUT?

This is a super basic but I can’t go anywhere without an eye mask! I can not sleep if there is even the tiniest spec of light! I literally have black electrical tape over anything that has any kind of light coming off of it!

IF YOU COULD PICK ANY PRIDE PARADE TO ATTEND, WHICH CITY WOULD YOU GO TO?

This is probably the hardest question you’ve thrown at me! But it would have to be NYC for sure, it’s where the movement was born, so to go there and feel that energy would be EVERYTHING!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received would have to be to take one day at a time, to live in that moment because you’ll never get that day back!
